Looking for good moldings!

I'm close to finishing up my 63 sports coupe but need the piece of strip molding that runs along the bottom edge of the trunk lid and the other piece at the very bottom that is a little longer than the other. I will pay good money for both of these!

What shape is it in? Does it have dents or is it bent? Do you have pictures? I will give you $50 for it.

Heck, without seeing it, I wouldn't have offered you that much. You asked what it was worth and he told you. Maybe you should have shot him a price instead?

Why don't you just say what you'll pay for an excellent piece of chrome ! - nobody wants to buy a dented piece or so so piece unless your selling a driver. I thought by your post you wanted to finish off a nice restoration.

The car is a driver, but I would like a nice piece on it that is not dented or bent. I can buff and polish it myself. I thought the piece we're talking about is aluminum about 3.5-4' long and about an 1.25" wide. It would take alot of aluminum cans to equal $50 worth. If you don't want to sale it that's up to you. I love old cars not money!

lookn4frd, You never did say how much you wanted for the really nice piece of molding. Let me know and maybe it's in my price range.

Hey looknforgoldmine, I'm so glad I did not buy from you. As luck would have it. I got connected with a Fairlane man less than 40 minutes from my home. He has a 63 Hipo Sports Coupe original. He had both pieces of trunk strip moldings NOS, gas filler door, console 4 speed shift plate, sports coupe emble for trunk, chrome trunk lock, taillight gaskets, and NOS chrome steering wheel ring with Sports Coupe emblem. All pieces NOS and never used. He has been collecting all over the country for 40 years. He has been to 60 percent of the FORD dealerships in the US. I got all of those pieces for $325 dollars. Life is good!

good score
just so you know, the trunk mouldings ,upper & lower and the lower chrome rear window mouldings are the same on 62-63
i have a 63 parts car & took the trunk, window trim off & matched them to my 62;s, exactly the same.

On your 63 parts car, do you have the fairlane 500 door badges on the inside of the doors near the handle? If so, what kind of shape are they in?
