smokey and the bandit trans am
anybody know what engine they used in this car to make it light the tires up so well in the movie? the 6.6 that actually came in those cars was supposed to be a dog, only putting out around 200 hp. just wondering what they did to pep the car up. _________________ NMCB 28 Seabee Battalion

I read that the tires where way overfilled and that helped with the burnouts. Also the 6.6 wasnt that bad

If you're really curious, head over to performanceyears.com and click on "tech forums" and use the search function. Lots of good Pontiac info there.

i wondered about the starsky and hutch torino too, in the remake that came out last year. that car had a ton of power, anyone know what the moviemakers had in it? there's a brown 76 torino still being driven around town here by an elderly lady, i keep picturing her painting it up like zebra 3, lol. _________________ NMCB 28 Seabee Battalion

some oil on the pavement and then drove the car over it so camera couldn't see it. hahaha...they were some pretty impressive burnouts though. _________________ Red 1967 Ford Fairlane convertible with built 289, 4.11s and T5!
