Driver side floor pan

Help! I'm replacing the driver side floor pan, and when I pulled back the carpet, there was this large, curved metal panel screwed to the floor with two screws. I guess it was more on the toe board then the floor board. My question is: is this standard? Did the car come with this? The curved piece has two holes that are longated , so I think it is a factory piece. Any help would be great!

Fredski53, Yes this curved metal piece was standard. I guess it was to smooth out the floor where the brake cable and speedometer cable penatraded the floor.
