Rear

This may be a stupid question but I want to get a posi rear for my 62. It has a open one with 355 gears. There is nothing wrong it but the 8 inch posi unit are a lot of $$ can anyone tell me what rear would fit with as little work to do the swap.

Thanks

Explorer vs Mustang 8.8"

I assume You know about the 8.8" explorer swap, shorten the one side & you have trac-lok, 3:55;s or 3:73;s & in most cases rear disc brakes.
Also, there are specific year stangs, with a short enough 8.8" rears that allows you to bolt it in, with the addition of spring perches, unless you also go with the Mustang link suspension.
I read about this "Mustang bolt in 8.8" in a late rod magazine, seems its shorter than any other year, if no one pipes in hear I will scour my mags. & fine the article that gives the specific year rear end.

8" parts ,etc

Bill - If your looking for 8" stuff you must have googled- Curries list of 8" parts,eh
From your basic trak-lok to their Alumi 8" which is an all aluminum center section, stuff gets to be pricey, but you would never blow it up.
I have a 70 Mustang -8" trak-lok but shipping from Canada to you would be silly.
Have you checked out Rod & Custom motorsports? if I recall, over & above their Mustang 11 front suspension kits they make some gear for the 8", disc brake adapters for one
