solid front axle on '64?
Ok, I'm a fan of the gassers of the '50s and '60s, and was wondering if it would be possible to install a solid front axle with leaf springs on a '64 Fairlane. I know anything can be done with enough fabrication, but does anyone have any idea just what would be involved?

Anything is possible. All depends on your skills/ability, resources or money.
Within the last 5 years many 62 -65 Fairlanes have been converted to straight axles. You can go with an early I beam axle, modified to fit the Fairlane or buy a new tube axle from places like Speedway.
