67 instrument cluster question

I'm debating taking the instrument cluster out of the car and cleaning up the plastic edges and trying my hand at painting. What is a good gameplan for cleaning the plastic edges (soap/water, toothbrush and comet, etc)? What color is correct for a general application (matte or glossy finish)? Also, what is a good way to stencil the letters on the cluster (wipers, Lights, etc)? Someone said to use a "paint Stick" to apply to the letters, I also had someone say to use vaseline around the letters so any overage can be wiped off.

Thanks,

I looked up there website, unfortunately the economy has forced them to close down. They did recommend Mueller Corporation &/or Instrument Specialities. Anyone on here use these two companies?

Location: north carolina

I had mine removed and painted by a artist/body shop man. He did a flawless job and it looks better than any Ive ever seen in any shows. He used flat black and a high gloss bright silver. If your in the North Carolina area I can get you his number/location...

I live in Alabama. Instrument Specialties estimated <$300 for refurbishment +$50 to silk screen the lettering. I plan to send it off this winter so by spring I will be looking at a new looking cluster
