1963 Meteor gas tank

Hello,
I have a '63 Meteor and need a gas tank. I am really having troubles locating a new or good used one. Do the '63 Fairlane and Meteor share the same tank and if so, where does a guy find one. Thanks

I went with a fiberglass tank from Crites restorations. It looks just like the stock tank and he also has new pick-up assy. with a 3/8 tube.

Fiberglass tanks are illegal by the DOT, should you be in a wreck, then if someone gets burned, you are at fault. Look at the post in Fairlane tech, you can buy a brand new metal tank. Safe bet if you love living and yur family.

Fiberglass tanks, additionally, are susceptible to degradation by the ethanol in modern gas. Many older boats have this problem. Go with a metal tank or a proper fuel cell.

insurance + additives =trouble

The additives in modern fuels do seem to have a nasty effect on the fiberglas tanks for the early F;lane, i'm not sure who, maybe on crazyformercurys site, but one of the guys had a big problem with this stuff eating up his fiberglas tank, so beware & as posted above, the Insurance ramifications are very scary!
