Hey Guys, What's the right torque spec for lug nuts for aluminum rims on a 66 Fairlane?

With the factory 7/16" wheel studs??

Go with what the wheel manufacturer reccomends.

Well, yes. But are you sure on the 7/16 studs? I'm not as familiar with all Ford assemblies, but the common Ford stud is 1/2, in which case, 100lb/ft would be your target. If they are 7/16 then 80-85 lb/ft would be the target.

Pro Stars

Weld reccommends 90 ft/lbs on the SST shank type lugs used with my Pro Stars.

OK guys, I'll check what size the studs are and then decide, but I've got the same set up as fairlaniac so might go with the 90 ft/lbs. At least I'll be in the ball park with 90.

The 66 may be 1/2". Not my call.

Over torque the studs, they will stretch, then break. So I still say follow the wheel manufacturer's suggestion.

But it ain't my car.
