66-67 master cylinder clearance

I notice that I have very limited clearance between the master cylinder and the valve cover on my FE installation. Did big block cars have an offset bracket for the master cylinder? If so, does anyone have a photo of this?

Thank you.

Rumor has it a master cylinder for a 89 ford ranger will miss the valve covers and still bolt right up.

No rumor - fact!

I have a '89 Ranger M/C in my '66 Fairlane.

fairlaniac, what push rod do you use with that 89 MS? I've got to replace my whole set up so putting that one on would be sweet.

Same pushrod

I used my original '66 pushrod. Mine are manual brakes.

fairlaniac, Did your 66 come with the 390 or did it have a 289? I've got manual brakes too and want to make sure that 89 bolts right up and there's no mod's needed. I don't want to miss anything or forget some part when I do my swap. I plan on doing that when I put the front disc brakes on.

390 car

Mine is originally a 390 with manual brakes. I have the Granada brakes on now.

After reading the title, I thought someone found master cylinders on clearance somewhere.
