Exhaust leak fix

I have a set of Hooker supe competition headers on my 63 SC. They developed a leak on the drivers side. I am replacing the gaskets that came with them with some Mr. Gasket solid copper gaskets. I got the gaskets from a friend and there were no instructions with them. If anyone is familiar with these, I was wandering which side faces out? The raised embossed side or the indention side. They are square port for Dart pro 1 aluminum heads.

Also has anyone ever heard of a lubricant or something that you put on spark plugs before they go into an aluminum head? Something about gauding and the plugs fouling out prematurely? I have an MSD ignition with 6AL box. What would cause spark plugs to start missing prematurely? Sorry plugs or something internal? Any suggestions on type of plugs to use? Thanks

Loose the gaskets and use Copper high temp rtv silicone.
I always use ARP assembly lube on anything going into aluminum ( actually I use assembly lube on any internally torqued thing)
Ring out your plug wires (do a continuity test) and make sure you have a good connection ie nicked wire core, bad connection on the terminal.
You can get a conductance gel to put on your plug towers or boots.

good luck
