The 62-64 fairlanes that were sold in australia where one of the very few times that the cars sold in Australia were the same as in America. They were shipped from Canada in ckd form to Australia in rhd and assembled. In 65 the compact fairlane was replaced with the galaxie, where as in New Zealand they still had the compact fairlane. The compact fairlanes where also meant to have been sold in South Africa and Rhodesia. If you can get a copy of the January/February 1997 Fairlaner magazine there is a article in there about them.

Correct: there are quite a few RHD 1965 Fairlanes in RSA even today Smile

I was talking to a South African a couple of years ago and he told me that the 66 fairlane hardtops were sold overthere brand new rhd. This would be interesting to find out.

Be careful there: the 1966 Ford 'Fairlanes' in RSA were rebadged Galaxie 500's Smile
