I'm finally getting around to finishing a front end rebuild on my 63. I'm converting all the stock rubber pieces to PST polygraphite. Does anyone know the proper torque specs for the upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends? _________________ 1963 Sports Coupe 289, 4sp

I think I remember the ball joints being around 80 ft-lbs. I remember asking on Woody's site. _________________ MET

The shop manual says:
Lower Ball Joint Assembly to Spindle Slotted Nut---60-80 Ft-Lbs
Upper Ball Joint Assembly to Spindle Slotted Nut---60-80 Ft-Lbs
Steering (Pitman) Arm to Idler Arm Rod Nut---35-40 Ft-Lbs
Spindle Connecting Rod to Steering Idler Arm Rod Nut---35-40 Ft-Lbs
Steering Idler Arm Mounting Bracket to Underbody Nut---20-25 Ft-Lbs
Steering Idler Arm Bushing Nuts---60-70 Ft-Lbs
I hope this helps... _________________ 1963 Fairlane 500 4 Door w/'68 J Code 302 4V and FMX
