coil spring info

I ordered 1" drop springs from mustangs plus assuming the front ends were the same on mustangs/fairlanes. Will a standard height mustang spring be enough? I want the car to sit even front & rear or even a lil drop in the front is ok. Any help appreciated.

There are at least a dozen Fairlane factory springs and probably nearly as many in the Mustang family. It will physically fit, but whether it achieves your goal is a matter of chance. What spring will work depends upon how each car is optioned out. Engine, auto trans, AC, body style... Change one of those things and you have a different spec spring that will affect your ride height.

wire diameter?

Howdy. I see the new one is 7 coils and the old is 9. Did the vendor say these were a higher rate? Probably so. If unsure check the diameter of the wire with a mic to see if it's thicker. I have an excel spreadsheet to figure rate if you want. Be aware that just 'cause the free spring is shorter that won't necessarily be the installed change if the rate is different. Hope those are the 400 lb springs and not the 600s. The wheel rate is 2.5:1 or something like that so a 400 spring will be 150 or so at the wheel which is a good rate for a performance driver.

FWIW, Scott
