64 T-Bolt clone (new pics 10-10-09)

Here's my current project. A '64 Fairlane 500 2 door sedan. It's a nice rust-free body with all original sheet metal. I have the Crites tower kit completed, as well a 9-inch & front disc brakes. The drivetrain is complete and ready to install. A dual quad 427 Tunnel Port and big-spline Toploader 4-speed.

Kewl!!

Street car or race car?

I'm building a drag only '63 post car as a sort of 'proto-clone'. I was going to do a Zimmy tribute, but now I'm thinking of building a car that looks period correct from the stands, but that has all the modern technology.

The paint will be Corinthian White, which my car (L-code 3-spd car) originally was, and the most period correct wheels I could find that look like Motor Flys (Bogart Drag-On Star III) and are really light weight.

It'll be a street car that may see some track time. My goal is to make it as visually accurate as possible.

Car looks excellent and super clean. Should be beautiful when finally assembled.

Tomorrow it gets a new headliner, and then the windshield and Lexan backglass installed.

Still have a few items to complete and some tweaking to do, but it is very close to being finished.

Man, that car is beautiful! I have been wanting to build one of these for years, and I would build it just like this. Have the 427, but sold the tunnel port heads and intake that I had, and now I'm regretting it.
