64 Fairlane 4dr., lots done, little to do - in NJ
Heres the ad I posted on Craigslist for $4550 or Best Offer.
1964 Ford Fairlane 500 4dr. 57,xxx original miles (seriously). Silver w/red stripe exterior, red near mint ORIGINAL interior, original 260 v8, 3 speed manual "on the tree". Stock AM radio. Absolutely unmolested as they come. Look underdash, not 1 wire out of place, cut or missing. Painted at a cost of $3K a couple of years back. There was 1 small rust hole behind the RR wheel. The underside of this car is very solid, with only surface rust. Work just completed: I replaced both front lower frame rails and radiator crossmember. These areas are KNOWN rot spots for the 64 Fairlanes.....but its fixed correctly now with all new Crites pieces. The heaterbox was also rebuilt, defroster tubes replaced with new ones, gas tank flushed clean - no leaks. New rebuilt distributor, rebuilt carburetor, new fuel pump, new waterpump, new radiator and all hoses and a new 180 deg. thermostat. Rechromed front bumper - rear is driver quality original. 3 seatbelts have been added to the rear seat area. New brake master cylinder and brakeswitch, new drums and shoes all around. All electrical / lighting works properly including BU lights!
WHAT IT NEEDS: Windshield is cracked, a new one is $270. The red windlace around the doors should be replaced. The window sweeps (catswiskers) should be replaced. The carpet is sunfaded and should be dyed. The front original seatbelts are present, but don't adjust properly. The need to be internally cleaned or replaced. rear parking brake cable sticks, should be cleaned and lubed or replaced (avail at Macs, $56)
PARTS PROVIDED: 1/2" round and "C" windlace, SEM red carpet dye, full set of new window sweeps, 1 new front windshield gasket.
Any and all offers considered. Cash talks!
