390 4 speed in a 67 XL ?
Hi Guy's, Can't find it anywhere in my reference books but did the 67 XL ever come with a 390 4 speed? And if so how many were built.
I think the only 390 4 speed combos came only in the GT's.
Please help
Thanks

Yes they did
I can verify three of them locally. Not sure of the count? _________________ Doug Bender

There were very few limitations on drivelines or anything else when it came to Ford. They were open to just about anything as long as it wasn't re-engineering a platform to satisfy customer desires. That is why it's dangerous to say something as an absolute when it come to Ford. If you wanted a red car with a green interior, Ford would build it that way. Sure, it would make you barf, but they would do it.

i've seen some on ebay. i believe 67 was actually the first year you could get pretty much ANYTHING ford offered in any combination, at least for the fairlane. 66 was alittle more stricter with the packages. _________________ NMCB 28 Seabee Battalion
