Thanks,
Will this kit bolt up to a 67? I am not sure what year you were installing on.

Was just on Mustangsteves site, He just anounced a kit or bracket to use cobra rotors and calipers on stock mustang spindles.Im Not sure if these will work on a fairlane. If you are interested give him a call, his phone# is on his website, He is very friendly on the phone. Just thought I'd pass this along.

Yes this kit will fit a Fairlane but you will have to run a 17 inch wheel to clear the big calipers .If he's not road racing I would say the Cobra set up would be over kill on a street driven car plus you will loose some ride quality from the 17 wheels overstock size wheels . _________________ 1966 Gt , Tahoe Turquoise , 35143 miles

I taked to the guy on E-bay and this will bolt right up to the 67. I plan on using 15" rims not 17's. I like to go staight for short distances and quickly than turn corners. Thanks for the info!

Most 65-66 Mustang Disk brake stuff will work too and you can buy it at your local parts store. I used 65 Mustang rotors and hardware bolted right up to my 66 Fairlane with drum spindles. Just bought the splash sheilds and conversion brackets from NPD. I had the calipers but I think they are 65 Mustang too. Just a though. Also the 67 Mustang dual MC bolted right up too. Not sure if your 67 is same though.

There ia a bracket by SCAREBIRD on ebay for $135. that adapts chevy S-10 calipers and exporer rotors to 67 Fairlane. All the parts needed are supposed to be redily available. I estimate this convesion to cost about $375 Total. Has anyone tried this conversion? Are S-10 brakes enough to safely stop a Fairlane?

I too priced out the Scarebird route but came up with considerable more invested.
Keep in mind you will need cores to buy new calipers, so either source junkyard calipers to run (risky as they might need rebuilt) or to trade in for cores.
I priced quality calipers & rotors not the chinese crap. I also included the cost of proportioning valve, proper disc/drum master cylinder, new hoses and adapters, as well as new wheel bearings, seals & related hardware.
Drum brakes stopped these cars. The later model S10's and the Rangers/Explorers although smaller, were "not exactly" light weight vehicles and they have some room for error designed in them to allow for towing to a point. I would think they would work no worse than the Granada swap. (DISCLAIMER: I am not an automotive engineer trained in the design of brake systems!)
Remember none of these systems were designed for the Fairlane. This type of swap is always at the owner/installer's risk. _________________ Scott

Thanks Scott. I think I'll go with one of the stock type conversions.

I put an SSBC on the front of my 64 fairlane. Straight up bolt on, no problems, nice kit. With a 67 I think they also have more options as far as rotors and calipers.

I put the Willwood HD kit for the front
on my Fairlane which is strickly going
to be a drag racer.
The kit (a few years ago) with brackets,
rotors, calipers & pads, bearings, and seals was around $600.00.
I still have to buy hoses, Proportioning valve and
master cylinder though.
The kit fits well, but with Weld Pro-star
15" wheels the calipers were very close to the
wheels. In fact, my wheels were slightly out of
round (maybe .030) and I had to slightly grind
some on the high spots, but Willwood makes
quality hardware that you can buy replacement
parts for when needed.
With this setup, I used my original spindles and
the wheel bearings with the kit were same as OE.
I didnt have to worry about special tie-rod ends like
I've heard about on the Granada swap.
