Header problems
I have a '65 that currently has a 302 sitting in it waiting for some exhaust help. I've tried about 10 different sets of 302 headers for just about every application (it's nice to work at the parts store sometimes), and none of them seem to fit right. So far I keep hitting one of two problems. Either the headers don't curve back tight enough to avoid the strut tower or the driver's side header interferes with the clutch linkage (4spd floor shift).
The majority of the headers simply hit the strut tower. As a solution to that, I found a set of hookers that look like they may work. Unfortunately, this set runs about $400 and I'm on a somewhat tight budget.

Anyone have any advice to offer?

headers
I installed the 6134's in my 65,302,c4 automatic and they went in perfect. The only issue I had was with the shift linkage.

I heard HiPo exhaust manifolds are cheap (if found) and could be as effective in performance. _________________ MET

Hipo manifolds are in reproduction and they're better than the base stuff but even the best log manifold flows less than the worst headers. Though, the difference isn't that great if you're looking for solid reliability and trouble free operation. To many, the hipo manifolds make a lot of sense.
