The GT stripes are on an angle when they should be staight you can see this on the door very clearly. The center console that was in the 66 GTA was an option in 67, so that would explain why it is still a column shift. I don't know about the blue tinted windows, if they were an option or not, but I personally don't like them. _________________ 66 hardtop downunder

Agressive tow truck driver?
The right side strut rod mount area looks like someone did some nasty hooking on that area. They also could have spent a little more than a buck on that crappy oil filter. I'm not even sure if it's Wal-Mart quality? Did the GT/A's or GT's have the two tone paint? _________________ Doug Bender

Do you mean the fact that it has 65/66 rear quarter panel emblems on a 67? _________________ Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?

well you got it half right, shaddow. that is the 66 emblems on the quarter, but it's also 500 emblems, not GT emblems. notice that it says "fairlane 500". the GT's had individual letters spelling

I could be wrong, but couldn't you have gotten the 500 model with the GTA package back in 1967? _________________ MET

Another problem
This problem is under the hood. If you look at the air cleaner you will only see 1 mesh screen on the passenger side. There should be another on the drivers side too. I am guessing someone took the snorkel off of a stock air cleaner and screwed or riveted a screen in.. Due to the rarity of these a replacement would be hard to find and cost a great deal.....

You missed these....
Air cleaner is not correct. It is a 68 GT air cleaner, note the round "auxilliary" air inlet on the LH side, near the brake cylinder.
Someone was correct, they put screen in the one hole... note the nut inserts where the snorkle would attach.
Also crank pulley appears to be a 68 version.....I think. My 67 with AC has a three groove pulley, but it fits over the balancer, and is the same size all three sheaves... ON this one the outer sheave is smaller, like a 68 390 pulley.
Front sway bar appears bigger, perhaps a CJ Cougar or Mustang bar was used.
Wheels are later model magnums. ala Granada or so....
Not a bad car, just so much not right!

Got to wonder if you could use all these faults that have been listed to be able to get the price down since it is all so for sale on the dealers yard. _________________ 66 hardtop downunder

WOW
It sold for $16,850.00 .... I guess underneath it all it was still a fairly decent car...It seems like the prices sure have skyrocketed though..

bottom line
bottom line, beyond originallity, beyond modifications, whats it worth to you, the things we may find hard to swallow when car shopping may be the things someone else is looking for, I've know people to put different emblems, wheels or whatever from another year vehicle merely because it suited their taste, to each their own. The only thing I detest(and I'm not saying that here) is the purest who is condescending to someone who isn't a purest and the reverse when the street rodder dogs the trailer queen, we all have different taste and its far better to work together in our hobby as we're becoming like the dinosaur....extinct..... the rich buy and drive up the price of our hobby for their own investment reasons, salvage yards crush our dreams for the rising cost of scrap steel, and the EPA lobbyist would like to do away with us altogether!
