Cougar Mustang to Fairlane Exhaust Interchange???

Would this exhaust work for my 67 Fairlane Convertible? I will have header extension tubes on here as well. Just trying to stretch the dollar as much as possible. Please advise.

I'd be worried about length, the Fairlane is longer than the Cougar/Mustang.

No, it won't work, at least not without some customizing. Not only is the Mustang's underbody different from the Fairlane, but the Fairlane convertable is different from the non-convertable Fairlane. You have an underbody brace that the hardtops and sedans don't have. You can probably get most of it to work, though, as a starting point and to overcome the most critical part -the over the axle part. You'd probably start with a x-pipe kit, some tube to get you to the mufflers and the over the axle from the kit, then some pipe out the back. Honestly, if you did get this kit, you'd probably want to farm out the install to a muffler shop that can do the custom work.

I have the Flowmasters exhuast on mine and the only parts I used were the mufflers and the over the axle tubes. Everything forward of the mufflers I built from an x-pipe kit and straight tube. I had to do this because the Hooker Super Comp headers for the FE puts the collectors at different points that made it impossible to use the Flowmasters H-pipe leading to the mufflers.
