Auto floor shifter Q

I have a C4 with the stock floor shifter and the "T" bar is VERY sloppy. Need to know if there was a bushing in the place that connects the "T" bar part of the shifter to the shift linkage. Where can I get this bushing if there is one? Thanks

There are two bushings in the shifter pivot, which are the same nylon bushings used in the pedals. The shift rod is a bolt-on deal on both ends. The slop is in the bushings for the shifter.

Just to make sure we are talking the same thing. This is in the area where from the actual "T" bar to the linkage.

I will get a picture of it on Tuesday.

I just double checked mine. (67 mustang, should be the same) The T-handle is attached to the shift lever with a allen head set screw. Try tightening the set screw, or removing it to check for wear. There are no bushings there, but a mustang style t-handles are available from just about any vendor, and should fit.

It is the same. And if we're talking only about the handle and the shaft, then there is only the allen head screw to make it tight.

It is the attachement at the base of the T handle shift cane. Inside the area where the arrow points is very sloppy. Seems there should be a buching of some type.

The shifter uses a nylon bushing in there.

Is there a part number or a place I can get it?

Is this it? This is from Mac's. These might be for the intermediate shaft linkage.

That's the bushing you need.
