Engine Run on

I have a stock wiring harness with MSD 6AL on my 63 Fairlane SC. When I turn the ignition switch off, the car still runs. MSD supplies a "diode" to connect to the number one terminal on the voltage regulator. Has anyone experienced this and where did you splice in the diode? Which wire does it need to go to? Thanks for the help.

I have an MSD on my Maverick and I soldered bullet connectors on the ends of the diode and covered it with shrink tubing and plugged it inline at the voltage regualtor. That way there was no cutting of the harness and it's almost invisable.

I figured it out. I ran the red wire to a hot 12 volt continuous source. It was hot all the time. So I connected it the the pink wire that runs to the ignition switch. Problem solved. Thanks for the help. Just curious, what wire or terminal did you connect the supplied diode to on the voltage regulator?

The charge light wire, which already had a single bullet connector in the harness about 3 inches from the hardshell connector at the regulator.
