A spokesperson for the NZmobil service stations said they might drop the price before christmas, but that it was dependent on the price per barrell being less volatile and the opec countries upping production. My interpretation of what he said is they will drop the price after they have made a nice profit out of it and just in time for christmas so they dont look like a bunch of coldhearted morons who want to ruin everybody elses christmas by making it to expensive to go away. _________________ 66 hardtop downunder

It's a complex issue since you're dealing not only with supply and demand of oil, but the value of the dollar, which has been dropping on overseas markets. So even if demand drops, the price can still rise on a weak dollar.
This is just the world we live in so you better get used to it.

gas price
It seems they ALWAYS HAVE many many reasons why gas goes up and almost as many for why it cant come down. All I do know for sure is that the gas companys are still making record breaking profits.go figure that out.

Get used to it? Gas should be regulated as a utility just like electricity and water. You must have it.

The price has dropped here by 3cents/litre works out to about 8centsUS/gallon. It isn't much but it is better than the price going up. _________________ 66 hardtop downunder

I am not much for promotional gimmicks, but I gave into this one. If you apply for a Conoco/Phillps 66/Union 76 credit card, they give you an 18 cent a gallon rebate at all gas purchases at those stations. It has no annual fee. The max rebate for the program is $50. When I reach that figure, I'll cut it up.

The supermarkets here in New Zealand give a discount voucher for fuel. You have to spend a set amount of money before they will give you one and you can only use it with one gas company. _________________ 66 hardtop downunder
