1963 fairlane 460 project

Finaly after 2 years she runs, was a 6cyl, 3 speed, now a built 72 Lincoln 460, modified C-6 with narrowed 9 inch posi rear. still need exhaust system - currently running open port headers, installing roll cage now, then interior. Car is a blast to drive, very fast!

Nice, looks just like my car, same color and trim. I'm putting a FE in mine with a Jerico 4-speed. Did you do any wheel well mods?

Hi Larry,

If you remember we traded some parts a while ago, I needed a set of longer trans mounts as this was a 6 cylinder car. Your parts helped me get this thing finally done. I sent you a clutch and brake pedal assembly as a trade!
The rear wheel wells are stock the 9 inch rear has been narrowed 3 1/2 inches to fit the tires and it worked out perfect.

I am in need of a set of front strut rods if you have a set. Let me know.
Here’s a link to my Photo-bucket page that has more pictures.

JOE!!! I owe you a T-shirt!!! PM me your address or email it so I can get it sent to you.

I remember having it packaged up, but can't remember if I ever addressed it or not. I swear, ever since I turned 40, I've been forgetting things right and left. I don't even remember where the clutch pedals are!! LOL!!

My project is still going slow, though I recently picked up a used Dove High Riser Tunnel Wedge 2x4 intake. (these are pics from Dove's website)

It was simply too good of a deal to pass up, nearly half of new. My wife isn't too happy, but I'm selling off some other FE stuff to make it up. I told her that I was getting rid of a bunch of crap for this one piece of crap and that I could easily sell the new piece of crap for more than I have in it.

But this will limit me on what heads I'll be able to use, high risers only now, but I think I'll end up with the new Blue Thunder aluminum High Riser heads. I don't think I can afford the Dove PIE HR heads.

By the way, the first pic is my new screen saver at work. (thumbs up!!!)
I also like the electric cutouts, which ones did you get and how well do they work?

I might be able to sacrifice my own strut rods, but I doubt the bushings are any good.

Hi Larry,
Nice intake!
I'm 43 so I know the memory thing all too well! And yes I still want the t-shirt, never can have too many!
The electric cut outs are from Summit, they work great, but I still need to put the exhaust system on. I just finished a 6 point roll cage, my stepson and I built it ourselves and I'm real happy with it. With the car finally running and driving I'm much more motivated to finish up the loose ends. I made a mistake on the strut rods and messed mine up, when I rebuilt the front end and converted to disk brakes and I cut the steering stop off the strut bar, not realizing what it was for! The rods are still on the car, but I have no steering stops! Dumb move on my part, if you have an extra pair I sure could use them, or if you know of a wrecking yard that might that would help too. I do have new bushings already.

Oh and I'll email my address.
thanks!
Joe

Hey, maybe we can just swap rods. Mine will be a drag only car, I'm still not sure if I can use fabricated upper and lower comntrol arms or not, but I won't really need the stops and if I do, since my only turning (hopefully) will be in the pits, I can always weld something on. Let me get them off and I'll ship them to you with the T-shirt and you can ship yours back in the same package.

Larry
