I finally figured out how to register & run a 1964 Oklahoma tag on my '64 Fairlane. Locate a decent year plate you wish to run, go to your tag agent, request a "Vintage Decal Application", fill it out and send $21 to the Oklahoma Tax Commission - that's it!

~UPDATE~

I called the Oklahoma tax commission in November 2007 just before Thanksgiving to ask where the hell my decal/registration was. The fella answering the phone said they were not going to send me a 2007 registration but would instead send me a 2008 registration so I would get a full year's registration. Cool! When might I be receiving that says I? "No later than 20 December" was the reply ~ AWESOME!

26 December I had received nothing so I called 'em again. The same fella answered the phone and informed me that the new batch of decals had been misprinted and had to be sent back to the printer. "When might I expect it?". "Quickly I hope" was the reply.

18 January 2008 I called 'em YET AGAIN! The same cat answered the phone and told me, "God, those were all mailed out awhile back! Gimmee yer name and I'll check!". He checked and said, "Oh yeah, it's headed your way!".

21 January 2008, five months after I sent off the application, it shows up in my mail box........on Martin Luther King, Jr Day.......a day when the mail doesn't run.........in an envelope dated 18 January.
