Ball joint removal

Your missing the big hammer, no seriously they are in there with an interference fit, there is a tool to remove them, you back off the lower ball joint nut, this is a threaded tool that fits between the upper and lower ball joint shafts and forces them out. Failing that support the lower control arm and drive it out with a BFH. that's if you are not going to use the ball joint again.

Air chisel

The lower ball joint has four spot welds in a diamond pattern. After trying to use the BFH and going nowhere I ran to town and got an air chisel, farmhand from tractor supply. $30.00 and five minutes working time the ball joint is out.

I also drilled the new ball joint and old A-arm for 3/8 grade 8 bolts slight improvement over the 5/16th that just seemed small.

Three days later and my hand is still swelled from the BFH, lol.

Lower ball joint

Sorry I mislead you on the welds, What did you use for ball joints on the bottom? It almost looks like a Mustang can be adapted. My bottoms are OK,but I'm changing the tops tommorow.
