Ex. discs,again

I think i asked this but can;t find the thread.
I have a chance to pick up brand new set of Explorer rear discs , from Currie.
$400.00
But, will they bolt on to stock 8.8" rear flanges? (90's stang 8.8")
I know the Explorer runs the 8.8" ,but, i;ve heard they use a different disc brake mount

nope

Well, if anyone cares, no ,they won;t bolt on!
I called Currie & according to them, you need the Torino style ends to bolt the Ex. discs on

brakes

I run a complete Explorer rear that I had narrowed, and I do know that they use larger axles/bearings than the usual Mustang 8.8

Roger,

If you already have an 8.8 housing, you should be able to get a ton of brakes to work for you. I think I have a set off of an 85 or 86 LSC that may work for you. Ford DID use a few slightly different bolt patterns for 8.8 brakes so you need to know if your bolt pattern is a perfect rectangle, or something different.

The Explorer brakes ARE large bearing and as mentioned only fit the "Torino" housing ends. (Or Exploders!)

Good luck!
Steve

Roger, just saw that you had listed your rearend as a 90's mustang. Look for 91-92 LSC or Mustang rear discs. These will bolt on directly.
