How to mess with your car parts counter man

I've needed a power steering hose for my 1968 Dodge D200 for awhile but all the parts clerks told me, "NOPE CAN'T GET IT !".

I found this website, https://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/mfr,MOOG , found the part number and had a local parts house order it for me Laughing !

Don't let them tell ya they can't get your parts !

I actually bought the brake lines, drums and adjusters for my Fairlane on Rockauto. It's a big help when you're trying to find parts that aren't in the computer.

Most of the parts stores have printed catalogs from their suppliers. I often ask the counter person if I can look at their books and find the parts myself. All of the information on the computers was originally entered from the catalogs. As a former manage of one of those large chain parts stores I can say that the computers are often incomplete and sometimes inaccurate. Remember not to take it out on the parts store employee.

Hunting for parts is an adventure! Very Happy
