I agree, I think the 55 chev was a better looking car than the 57. Mid 70's camaros would be a close second. _________________ 66 hardtop downunder

that's EXACTLY how i feel; if you want to pick a good looking 50's chevy, the 55 was alot tougher and meaner looking. it was a real stocky lookin' car that looked fast. _________________ NMCB 28 Seabee Battalion

And yet it is easier to buy parts for a 57 chev than a 57 fairlane. _________________ 66 hardtop downunder

I'd take a 57 Fairlane with the retractable hard top any day over a 57 Chevy. _________________ 1967 Fairlane 500, 302 V8, Toploader transmission. Maybe I'll eventually get it on the road.

I agree on the '55 being better looking.
However, there was a triple white '57 'vert with FI for sale locally to me about 30 years ago that I wished I had purchased for the asking sum of $25k. The car had 25 miles on it, mostly being pushed on and off a trailer, it had been a show car since new. Barrett Jackson would be where I'd take it now if I had bought it. _________________ Larry Hampton

I agree as well. That's one car that I wouldn't seek out to buy. Now if someone gave me one I'd take it!
You ask some people what car represents the good ol' days and the first car they say is the 1957 Chevy.

i know, and that's exactly my point. i just don't get it. especially in a year (57) when ford absolutely dominated them on the track with the supercharged 312. _________________ NMCB 28 Seabee Battalion
