I agree with others here.........................weld it. You can from metal patches and weld them in. I don't care for fiberglas fillers, bondo is easier to use. I don't use much bondo either, I prefer to grind weld down and fill in low spots with metal, bondo is for those odd spots to fix.

i did weld it, i spot welded the patches all the way around their perimeters. i just used the fiberglass to cover up the welds. i wouldn't dare simply use fiberglass to hold the patches in. _________________ NMCB 28 Seabee Battalion

I should have a good write up on this kinda of repair in a few months (need to do it mself) but I am making all new wheel tubs for my car from flat sheet on a beater bag and english wheel ......they might end up a little wider too...hehehe....
