429 swap

My son and I are just starting on a 1967 fairlane convert. resto mod. We are going to install a 1969 429 with beleive it or not 72k original. What I would like to know is what type and year of exhaust manifolds would work on this swap. Any help out there. Thanks

You'd need 70-71 Torino manifolds for it, but I don't know why you'd bother. Look up Crites. They have everything for this conversion, including headers.

Thanks for the info, I have the Crites engine mounts, I am just looking at all options. I wasn't sure if headers were the way to go or stay more with a stock look.

The headers will offer substantial HP and torque over the best 70-71 429CJ manifolds ever produced. Spend a few extra dollars on Jet-Hot coating and metal-copper header gaskets and you'll never have to touch em again. Jet coatings will lower under hood temps substantially and the metal gaskets never blow out.

Google "Crites restoration" and it pops right up. They have the exact things you need AND at VERY reasonable prices. I believe they are in Ohio. I just did a similar swap with a 460 in my 66. Call them up and they will help you out and are extremely knowledgeable!!!!!

Thanks for the help, I keep hearing the name crites, so I would think this is the place to go to.
