'66 Fairlane GT/A

This is an old photo of my '66 GTA.

I bought this Michigan/Wisconsin/Minnesota car in 1974 and even at only 8 years old, the floors were rotted as well as the bottoms of the fenders. Five years later, I found a rust-free '66 XL in Denver and picked it up for $150. I moved the mechanicals and interior over to this new body. Photos and description of some of this effort are shown here:

My uncle was a salesman at the dealer when this car was originally sold, and he sold it to his sister (my aunt) when it was traded in three years later. The color code on the warranty plate is blank as this was a custom factory configuration. The factory color was Acapulco Blue, a '67 Mustang color. Other interesting differences were the GT/A badging. The fender badges were located about a foot above the stripes and they were not the standard black and white. These badges were red, white, and blue. The "GT" was blue on the white background and the "A" was white on a red background. Here is a magnified old photo that shows this:

This car is currently sitting in my garage on jack stands. I have a set of argent GT wheels that I was going to put on (like SD44 has), but I now am considering something more correct for that year.
