got a new motor
I got a bit of a score this weekend, I went to buy my 351w from craigslist. I was told it was a 351w from an 84 truck, which I was not that excited about, mainly because of the shity low compression small port truck heads. I got there and started looking at, and sure enough, it had a 4 barrel truck intake on it. it was only on with one bolt, so I yanked it off to make sure it said "351 wf" in the valley. I got intake off and it was a 351, I also remember thinking those intake ports look awful big for a truck head. I pulled the valve covers and they said 351 wf, good enough. Not really what I want, being a truck motor, but it is a cheap runner I said and took it home. Got to cleaning it up last night, and found the casting marks on the block and was very happy to see --> C9OE-6015-A. I pulled out the mirror, stuck them under the heads and sure enough, same thing. This was no 84 truck motor, it was really 69 Fairlane motor, NICE! Best 351w block, good early 4v heads, much better than I thought I was buying! Now im wondering what cam might be hiding in there, it does have a 7qt oil pan and carb spacer, someone was trying to do a performance thing with it. Maybe I will get lucky and find a nice cam too. Just wanted to share my good luck story...
Oh yeah, I also got a VERY low mile edelbrock 750cfm carb for $125, I love craigslist! _________________ ----------------------------------------
