Are these really worth that $$$
I'm not sure the cost = the benefit. If it is about longevity, then I consider a set of regulars every 20 years pretty reliable.

From what I've read they are a world difference from stockers. Supposedly make a huge improvement in the way the car rides, handles, etc. More then likely money well spent, unless you can make them yourself of course. _________________ 69 Torino GT Formal Roof

That is true, they do make a world of difference. Here is a link for the step by step procedures to build your own. In my case, I can not weld and this looks a bit past my capabilities. One must know his limits...LOL

It will be awfully hard to install them on your 63 Roger since the 62-65's don't use them. By the way got that rear end cover and the other stuff on the way yet? _________________ Steve 64 S/C big brakes 8.8 rear 289 lentech AOD, strut front suspension

You guys with later model Fairlanes shouldn't have much of a problem with this mod. Looks great.
For the earlier model Fairlane owners, 62-65, the mod looks VERY difficult. The springs on these models sits inside the upper control arm. The control arm is actually the base for the spring. Placing a perch on top of the control arm in these models without spring height reduction would push the ride height up significantly.
Going with a lowered spring would reduce the front end travel. I could see the potential for spring bottoming which would place dramatic stresses on an already weak front end structure. _________________ 1963 Sports Coupe 289, 4sp
