Power steering to Rack and Pinion!

Someone walk me thru the process of turning my stock power steering on my 63 sports coupe to a mustang II rack and pinion steering system. What troubles will I run into?

How much difference is there between the power rack and pinion steering versus the Manual rack and pinion steering? Is there a difference as far as steering and header clearance go? Thanks

clearance

You should give either rcmotorsports or Randalls rack & pinion a call.
both of them are really good guys to talk you through issues with power steering, header clearance.
i know the rcmotorsports rack is a rear steer, their site shows the whole install process

Rack only

i wish i was more mechanicaly inclined.
found a great article in an old Custom Rodder.
The guy made a rack X-member that replaced the stock round x-member, mounted a Dodge mini van rack to it, used 2 Borgeson joints & shorty headers with homemade tie rod ends & was driving the car the next day!
He says the steering was so precise, he;s staying with the Ford stock suspension!
