64 exhaust help
Hi all new owner of 64 sp cp ---- wondering if anyone has used the 289 hipo manifolds instead of headers ---- have 260 with auto trans, any problems ---- was hopin they might interchange since they came with either engine combo ---- you guys seem to be bunch of great people willing to help others ---- any and all information will be appreciated much - Diek ---

I think I remember reading that the 289 hipo manifolds are easier to use in the earlier model Fairlanes then headers. In fact I believe they are recommended. I'm not certain the performance differences, but as far as fit is concerned, they should be great.

I am using reproduction Hi-Po manifolds from Mustangs Unlimited. When I got them, I port matched them and coated them with a high heat manifold paint. One thing you may want to do is grind slightly so it is easier to get the socket on the spark plugs.
