What so far have you done to trouble shoot the circuits?

Check your ground in the rear of the car. The "cans" that hold the bulbs have spade connectors that can corrode over time. The ground is also back there.
The wires that feed the back of the car run under the door plate on the drivers side of the car. Then to the trunk. Check those to make sure there hasn't been any breakage or shorts.
When you say "interior lights" are you talking about the dome light, the dash lights or both? Most of the lighting in the car is single hot wire then to ground directly after the light. The dash is grounded by the screws that hold the dash panel in place. Check the circuit at the bulb. If no power, re-ground right there and check again. If still no power, chase the wire to origin.
If your fuse panel in your headlight switch has corroded, it must be cleaned or replaced. Use a dedicated contact cleaner for the job.
Electrical problems are a bite. But take your time, one circuit at a time, and you will beat them.
Our cars are very similar, I have empathy... _________________ 1963 Fairlane 500 4 Door w/'68 J Code 302 4V and FMX

Been very busy and haven't had time to get back here, but in my troubleshooting with my meter, I have no power to the rear, so I am thinking
its a grounding problem, and yes I have no dome or dash lights. I'll try to pull the light switch and check the connections.

If you show no power to the rear, I don't think
you're having a ground problem. My later ('66)
Fairlane wiring diagram shows that the two circuits
have a similar terminal providing power, which
( on the '66 ) is the rear corner plug of the
ignition switch connector. Not sure if your older
model is wired the same, but it does look as if
you should check the terminals / connections on
that ignition switch. If you have tail-lights, I think
you will find you have an adequate ground on the rear.
Good luck with it, and let us know what you find. _________________

I had a similar problem on my 65,no brake or turn signal on the left side of the car,it turned out to be the turn signal switch inside the steering coulumn. Hope this helps

While investigating my problem and checking fuses for a 2nd time, I managed to find a blown one, but when it stuck a screwdriver in there to get the fuse out, there was a loud pop, and now it wont start or do anything. It is completely dead, no headlights nada.
Any ideas?
While I'm typing this does anyone think the voltage regulator could be involved?

Dude, that sucks.....First I would get a plastic fuse puller then disconnect the battery and replace every fuse in the panel. Doesn't cost that much and you know you will be starting at default. Check to see if you have current to the fuse panel. You might have fried one of the hot wires. Follow the path back to the power source until you find power, then work forward. Good luck, I'm pulling for you. _________________ 1963 Fairlane 500 4 Door w/'68 J Code 302 4V and FMX

I'll check the other fuses, how many and what color are the hot wires from the fuse box?
