64 6 Cyl. to 8 Cyl. Brake switch
I want some help here. Is there any difference from the front brakes on a 6 cylinder car & a 8 cylinder car?
If so, what are they? What all is needed & what all has to be done to change to the bigger brakes?
I want to stay with the front drums for originallity. _________________ David Alger

I'm not sure about the '64 Fairlane, but I know that for 1966, the front brake shoes and drums for the 390 were wider than for the 289. If you can find an old parts catalog, it should have separate listings for the differences (like engine size) that would affect the part numbers. _________________ -- David
