door hinges

door hinges

Hello, I have a 65 fairlane and I need to repair my sagging doors. I bought the repair kits and just wanted to know any tricks or good advice about doing this job.Thanks...

a buddy to help handling the doors would be a big help (or even two)

I'm pretty much on my own,maybe I can use a floor jack to balance the door.

Thanks for all the advice and use of the floor jack.I don't know what ford was thinking when they built this car.To replace the upper pins,the hinge has to come off the door to get the pin out.Also I'm just a great patches pal.

An old body man trick I learned when trying to deal with door by yourself is to use a cherry picker(Engine lift). use old seat belts wrapped around the top of the window frame to hold the door in position.

Yeah, when they sell that little kit in the parts store, they don't give you any idea as to how big a pita it is to install one.
