choke heater tube

My automatic choke heater tube has rusted completely off the exhaust manifold. There is a little tube stub still sticking out of the exhaust manifold. How is this tube retained in the exhaust manifold? How do I get the stub out and how do I repair it?

Thank you in advance.

Go to your nearest parts store and buy a replacement tube in their packaged help aisle. It just presses in.
