explorer rear end into 63 fairlane

explorer rear end into 63 fairlane

any one had any knowledge of what i will be in for trying to install a rearend from a later model explorer with a3.73 limitied slp rear end . I wouid be very thank full of any advice.

it's been done on...

the Fordmuscleforums site... the rear in my explorer sport trac is 39-1/2 perch to perch and 58-1/2 flange to flange... the pinion is offset 2" more to the driver's side than the rear you have, which shouldn't be an issue. The driveshaft doesn't care if it goes straight up and down or a little diagonally...
