Tool?
Not quite sure what tool your talking about.
for cable type TV cable
Adjust cable so it is all the way out at WOT & back off a tiny bit so it isn;t binding at WOT.
Linkage type -Adjust rod so it is pushed as far as it will travel with accelarator at WOT.
Test drive & if it shifts to late(delayed) back off in 1/8" at a time.
there should be no slack at idle & a small amount at WOT.
Using gauge on trans.
Install a low press. gauge(0-30psi) in TV port on trans.
Adjust to 2-5 psi at idle. do not advance the TV lever, TV press. can damage the gauge if advanced to much.
Check out the press. after driving ,especially if you modify your engine.
More info go to lentechautomatics or baumann _________________ roger powell

aod tool
The tool pulls the cable a set distance and the oil pressure is measured 35 lbs warm in neutral. and when the tool is removed the pressure is supposed to be under 5lbs at idle. I have found one for 22.00 but i was hoping someone could just tell me what the setting distance is.
Thanks; : Al

aod adjustment
Thanks for the links. I ordered an oil pressure gage setup for checking the pressures today. Had the engine running and filled the transmission and tightened the one cooler fitting that was leaking. Getting impatient, want to go for a ride! Hope the gage tool arrives this week.
Thanks; Al

I was lucky enough to have some hydraulic line and all the fittings I needed plus a gauge kicking around. I also put a ball valve in the line so I could mount the line/gauge and rev the engine a bit till it was warm and then opened the ball valve. This way I didn't over pressure the gauge. _________________ Steve 64 S/C big brakes 8.8 rear 289 lentech AOD, strut front suspension
