Brace

I need the small brace for the passenger side that runs from the rad. core support to the front grille. Two bolts. 66GTA, but I think they are the same for all fairlanes(??) Thx. Bob

Is this support the same for '67 fairlane?

If yes, I may have it.

Have fooled with them...

I'm trying to add them to my 66 GT hardtop. They are unique to 66/67, I also have a pair of earlier ones that almost work. I assume yours is a convertible, but if not the little hump over the firewall is not there on non-convertibles which is what they mount to. Actually it looks like a Mustang k-brace can be made to work by redrilling the shock mounting holes and shortening the firewall part a little bit.

Off track/fyi there's a boatload of stress there. I figure on bolting some L-channel under the area that sticks out and bolting the lower part to the firewall. It seems like the most stressed part of the car is the firewall.

FWIW, Scott

bracket

Bob, If the bracket you need is the one Doug has identified, that is only a "66 model part, '67's did not use that part. I don't have it.
The book list the part # C6OZ 8A278-A /BRACKET RADIATOR GRILL MOUNTING UPPER

There is another "brace" that was used to mount the grill,
it shows just to the left in Doug's illustration part name SUPPORT RADIATOR-GRILL #C6OZ 8182-A right hand C6OZ 8183-A left hand, these also are 1966 Fairlane only. The 1967 model used the Part # but the pieces were different.

no braces

Bob,
I looked and have no more braces around the garage. Sorry! If I think of someone who has some, I'll get you in contact with them. Are you a Fairlane Club member? There are a few guys on the club forums parting some '66 Fairlanes.

Hello Bob. Sorry for my delay in responding. I will take 5 bucks for the part and whatever it takes to ship it to you. I could media blast it and prime it for an additional 5 bucks. It is not very heavy or will it take a big package for it. I think a small flat rate box to Canada is around $11.00. It may be able to go 1st class I would have to check and see tho. Let me know dwight
