You need to decide for yourself but if going Fe get a 390 . I have modded every Ford engine family we have except the flat head and can say the Fe has really suprised me . I take the feeling of a good big block over a small block anyday . I have a 11.1 429 in a 66 Galaxie that does not pull as hard as my Fe the only thing that I have or have had that pulls harder is my lil 2300 with 30 lbs of boost .
