Rear seat 3 point retractable seat belts in my '66

I thought I'd share this. I needed some 3 point retractable seat belts in my fairlane so I could safely put my daughter and her booster seat in when going for a drive. I purchased a retro-fit set from http://www.andoauto.com/deck.htm The installed seat belts are shown in the following pictures. The retractor sits on the rear package shelf. I installed a new repop package tray from Auto Krafters while I had things apart. The blue color matched my interior about as perfect as can be. If you have any questions, ask. I'll be glad to answer them.

Way to go!!!

Hey Doug did you add any support to the package tray sheet metal? How much was the kit and did they have anything to keep you alive in the front seat as well? Kids and their safety should always be of big importance...good job, Doug.

Additional Support

The bolt kit comes with thick waskers about 3" in diameter. I used one between the package tray decorative panel and the steel structure and one from ther trunk side. They do offer front kits. As I see it, welding an anchor point to the vertical post where the door latch is will be neccessary. This may be a Fall/Winter project.

This guy came up with a way to do a similar option using scrap yard parts. Thought I would share it as another option.

Your belts look great too.
