Wanted - 66 Fairlane power steering pump 390

Hello,

I need a 66 Fairlane power steering pump. Anyone have a decent one laying around? Its for the 390 engine. Id take a good used or a reman if you had one too. Prefer the thick neck..

Thanks

Mark

Hey Mark,

I have a power steering pump that I got with a batch of old 302 parts. I could try to get some pictures of it if you are interested.

Thanks,

Mark T.

Hi,

I dug out what I have and it has a really narrow fill tube. Also since it has been in storage for ever I found that I could not turn it by hand. I have no idea if the part even works or not. But if you are interested you can have it for the cost of shipping.

Thanks,

Mark T.

Autozone shows them available by special order for about $100:
Autozone Power Steering Pump

I bought one many years ago and the only problem with it was the orientation of the return tube. I ended up swapping my original reservoir to the new pump, but it may be possible to have the return tube repositioned if you don't already have a pump.

EDIT: I just clicked my link above and it brought up the wrong part. Search on part number 6139 at AutoZone to find the 1966 Fairlane pump. The photo looks like it has the large filler on the reservoir.

Hi Mark,

I have an extra narrow fill pump too. I was hoping to get the thicker one that looks more original. I really appreciate you looking though. Thanks a lot!

I just did a little more searching on this. This page gives the 1966 Fairlane 390 power steering pump part number as C5DZ-A without A/C or C5DZ-C with A/C:
Ford Pump ID Tag Decoder

It also shows the same exact pump for a 1965-66 289 Mustang. I just happened to find one of these on Ebay:
1965 1966 Ford Mustang 289 V8 Power steering pump
